The naturally carbonated mineral water "Mihalkovo" springs from the heart of the Rhodopes, on 2 km away from the village of the same name, and has been present on the Bulgarian market for almost 70 years. The spring was discovered in 1926 as a mountain stream which waters had taste and smell different from those of ordinary waters.

In 1939 - the local population decides to use the water as a principal mean of living.

In 1942 was turned the first sod, made the first shaft and a thorough analysis of the water characteristics.

In 1952 the first bottle of sparkling mineral water was ready.

In 1970 were made some improvements in the factory and a new conveyor belt was set in exploitation.

The next modernization was in 1990, when the contemporary glass bottle was created.
